Polk County Recreation
There's no excuse for not having fun in Polk County. The area offers recreational facilities and activities that appeal to all ages and interests. Polk County's tropical climate, with an average temperature of 72 degrees and ever present sunny skies, offers a perfect setting for the year round enjoyment of golf, tennis, baseball, jogging, bicycling, bass fishing and water sports. The county has no coastline but does have 600 beautiful lakes that are ideal for water sports.
Polk County offers lovers of the great outdoors unlimited activities in its nature preserves and parks. Many of the county parks have boat ramps giving direct access to the lakes and rivers. Fish Camps and Campgrounds scattered throughout the county also offer lots of fun for everyone.
