Florida state parks provide habitat for many rare, threatened or endangered plants and animals. Oscar Scherer State Park has extensive scrubby flat woods which are the home of threatened Florida scrub jays as well as other declining species including gopher tortoises, gopher frogs and indigo snakes.The park offers fishing and canoeing in the tidal creek and swimming in a freshwater lake. Camping areas and canoe rentals are available. Oscar Scherer State Park Area is located on U.S. 41, two miles south of Osprey. Click Here
