Caladesi Island is one of the few remaining large undeveloped barrier islands on Florida's Gulf Coast. The island is accessible by private boat. A scheduled passenger ferry runs from nearby Honeymoon Island State Recreation Area and from the city of Clearwater.

Recreational activities include boating, fishing, swimming, shelling and extensive nature study along the unspoiled island trails. Private boaters may use the 99-slip bay side marina or anchor offshore. Overnight docking is limited to 20 vessels from March through Labor Day. Overnight visitors must register before sundown.

Caladesi Island is located west of the city of Dunedin off the Gulf Coast.
